Our manufacturing process

The manufacturing process of our handcrafted pastels is a true artist’s work. Each pastel is meticulously shaped by hand, using only the highest quality pigments to ensure a smooth and even application on paper. Our skilled artisans expertly blend colors to create vibrant and intense shades that will bring your artwork to life.

Pigment preparation

The first step is weighing the pigments. Each pigment is carefully measured to obtain the exact amount needed for each shade and color intensity. High-quality pigments provide a varied and vibrant color palette, allowing artists to express their creativity with precision and finesse.

Grinding

The pigments are first mixed with water, then the resulting paste is carefully ground. This step ensures a homogeneous blend of the pigments, which is essential for achieving a uniform texture and guaranteeing their perfect integration into the paste.

Pressing

After grinding, the paste must be pressed to remove excess water. This step is crucial to achieve the ideal consistency and ensure the quality of the final product. The pressing is done precisely using a press, to give the paste the desired texture.

Rolling

Once the paste is pressed, it is shaped into small pellets, carefully weighed to ensure an even distribution of the material. These pellets are then hand-rolled to form sticks.

Drying

The final step is to let the pastels dry for about a month. This process removes any remaining moisture, ensuring better adhesion and increased durability. Once dry, they will be ready for artists to use in creating exceptional works of art.
